WELCOME to Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School "on the web" !

If you are new to our school, please look through our material, and check back often for updates.

CONGRATULATIONS !

William Barbuto, grade 8, won first place in the district-wide Pride and Patriotism contest. The middle school theme this year was “Support our Troops” and William’s pencil value study drawing captured the judges’ attention. It is an astonishingly sensitive portrayal of a soldier looking into the distance, a tear trickling down his cheek. The drawing is a portrait of compassion and courage, and has great depth not only in its emotional content but also in the play of light and dark contrasts in the composition.

This drawing also won the Permanent Collection award last year, and a print of it is displayed in our school gallery. We are very proud of William and look forward to his future successes.

Text &Library Books

If your child has text or library books that were not returned to school please look around for them so they can be returned.. All Lee County Schools have a data base which will allow a student's record to follow him to a new school, so if your child did not return books or lost a book, the personnel at his new school will be asking for these books.

The average cost of a middle school textbook is $55.00, so it becomes very expensive to replace books that were provided to a student and not returned. Please help us to provide books for all our students.
